A Monkey's Uncle

As I've probably written before, I'm trying to be as diverse as possible as an artist, and one of the ways I'm trying to be diverse is by learning as many different styles as possible. Today I set myself the challenge of aiming as high as I can, so why not copy Disney?

I went to see The Lion King in the cinema (epic nostalgia overloooad) and had a crazy urge to try and draw Scar afterwards, so I thought I'd take a shot from the film and see how closely I could get it. I did this from scratch and it took sooooo long, and the background is completely rushed. Plus I left out Scar's ear..whoops...but I'm pretty happy with how close I got it. Now I can take all the techniques I learned from doing it and add them all to my own work too.

Here's my rendition of the shot. Maybe don't look at it too closely..so many mistakes! The colours are all wrong too. But as far as I'm concerned it's finished...

I'm gonna go to bed now. More arts tomorrow!
